Erythromelalgia
Erythromelalgia (EM) is a rare condition often characterized by red, swollen and burning feet. EM presents with similar symptoms as CRPS/RSD but usually occurs in both feet (or hands) as opposed to just one foot or hand. EM is often associated with polyneuropathy.
The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) published an abstract of an EM case study that responded very well to a typical problem wound treatment protocol (30 x 90-minute treatments at 2.4 ATA.) Dr. Ralph Potkin, MD of the Beverly Hills Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine, was one of the authors.
