Hyperbaric Oxygen for Air or Gas Embolism

Air or gas embolism is the blockage of a blood vessel by air or another gas and most commonly occurs as diving injury. This is a life threatening emergency situation. If the bubble is not recompressed in a hyperbaric chamber within a few minutes, it will cause a clot to form and will be further complicated. Acute air or gas embolism is an UHMS approved indication for HBOT.

How can Oceanside Hyperbaric help?

Oceanside Hyperbaric is not an emergency medical clinic, and as such, we cannot adequately address an acute air or gas embolism. After treatment in a medical facility, upon release and with a fitness to dive assessment, we can administer HBOT to address chronic complications associated with air or gas embolism.
